Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTATIANNA (TESSIE) KOZLOWSKI 1907 - 2004 The Lessard family announces with sadness the passing of their dear Baba, Tessie Kozlowski, on February 1 at the Holy Family Nursing Home at the age of 96. Tessie was born to Hrynko and Anna Komar on December 21, 1907 in the Village of Bronycia, Povit Drohobych in Western Ukraine. At the age of 23, she left her beloved homeland to seek a better life and arrived in Canada in 1930. Here, she met her husband, Peter, and on June 5, 1932, they began their married life. They enjoyed 52 years together and Peter passed away in February 1984. During her life Tessie was a very hard worker with an indomitable spirit and continued as such into her late years living independently until poor health slowed her in her 91st year. She worked at several occupations as a seamstress in the garment industry and for a number of years as a chambermaid before her retirement. In her private life she was a very generous and giving Baba to her granddaughters and later took immense pleasure in her four great-grandchildren. She and her husband Peter were long-time members of St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Parish and there she also enjoyed being a member of the Seniors Horizon Club when it was active. Tessie was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1984 and earlier by her sister Mary in the Ukraine. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Jean Lessard; son-in-law Harry Lessard; grandchildren, Susan and Rick Friesen and Michele and Brock Brown; great-grandchildren, Danielle and Alex Friesen and Holly and McKenna Brown. Prayers will be sung at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 5 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 6 at St. Andrews Ukrainian Catholic Church, 160 Euclid Ave. with Rev. J. Holowaty officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. The family is most grateful to the caring staff at Holy Family, St. Josephs wing, 4th floor, for their compassionate care and support of Tessie during her residence there. Flowers are gratefully declined; if so desired, donations in Tessies memory may be made to your favourite charity. Baba we will miss your spirit, your courage, and your determination. We will never forget you .... till we all are together again! KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
