SYLVIA SLOCOMB (nee FETHERSTON) Peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2004, Sylvia passed away at Lions Personal Care Centre at the age of 92. She was born in Nanton, AB, December 3, 1911 and graduated from St. Marys Academy in Winnipeg. Sylvia was predeceased by her mother, Kathleen Sparling (1980) and her husband Karl (1970). In earlier years she supported Karls football involvement, entertaining at many a Grey Cup and was a member of the Lionelles. Sylvia is survived by two daughters, Carol Baird, Winnipeg, Cathi (Ken) Auld, Thunder Bay; five grandchildren, Brian (Ann), Shannon, Doug (Marcie) Baird, Lisa and Tracy Auld; four special great-grandsons, Drew, Tristan, Jordi and Troy Baird. Also surviving are her half-sister Joan (Jim) Keefe and family, Burlington; step-daughters, Bette (Bun) Donegani and Jeanne (Alan) Boulton. Special thanks to Edna and the fourth floor staff of Lions P.C.C. for their care and compassion over the past few years, as well as to the Administrative staff. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 4, 1:00 p.m., at Lions Personal Care Centre, 320 Sherbrook St. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lions Personal Care Centre, 320 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2W6 or to charity of choice.
