DONALD MURRAY WRIGHT On January 31, 2004, Donald Murray Wright passed on peacefully into the Hands of God at the St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 90, with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his wife Nora Wright (Hermiston). He was also predeceased by his parents Ada and Ernest Wright; sister Gladys Gesler (Wright) and his step-daughter Beverly Hobson. He leaves to mourn, his only son William Wright (Diane). He also leaves behind Gerald Hobson (Anne) grandchildren, Debbie (Dale) Schulz, Kathleen (Terry) Madsen, Tammy (Randy) Glidden, Leslie (John) Spiers, Ward (Kim) Hobson, Corrie (Joe) Lepieszo; and 13 great-grandchildren. Donald was born on June 12, 1913 in Portage la Prairie, MB. He moved to Winnipeg when he was two years old where he attended school and graduated from Daniel Mac. He worked for Globe Light Batteries during the late 1930s and then moved on to the C.P.R. where he was a break-man and a baggage handler from 1940 - 1960. During this time, he met and married Nora Hermiston. Their son Bill was born shortly after. Don worked for the Winnipeg School Division from 1960 - 1978 when he retired. He spent many years down at Falcon Lake where he enjoyed puttering around and being with friends and family. During the later part of his life, Donald resided at Bethel Place and later moved to Riverview Nursing Home. Donald Wright faithfully attended Grant Memorial Baptist Church for 50 years or more. He was loved by many - his memory will be in our hearts forever. We would like to thank the staff at Riverview Care Home and St. Boniface Hospital who took such good care of him. In lieu of flowers, donations in Donalds memory may be made to the Salvation Army , PO Box 1932, Winnipeg, MB R3C 3R2 or the St. Boniface Hospital, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. Services will be held on Wednesday, February 4 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Interment and reception will follow.
