Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIRGINIA IRENE HAMMONS (CARROLL) A resident of Chatham, formerly of Selkirk, passed away peacefully at Meadow Park Nursing Home, Chatham on Sunday, February 1, 2004 at the age of 84. Born in Camden Twp., daughter of the late William and Mary (Burgess) Carroll. Virginia is predeceased by husbands, Cecil Bodkin and Peter Schwets. Beloved wife of the late Russell Hammons. Loving mother of Louise and Stewart Hamilton of Selkirk, MB, Elaine and Edward Edwards of Chatham, Ronald Bodkin of Belle River. Loving grandmother of 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Predeceased by an infant daughter; a son Charles Bodkin; a sister Marion (Clem) Dugas and brothers, Charles, Norris and Sherman Carroll. Family and friends will be received at the John C. Badder Funeral Home, 72 Victoria St., Thamesville on Thursday, February 5 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Mrs. Bonnie Harvey of Tupperville officiating. Cremation with interment of cremains in Selkirk, MB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society may be made by cheque at the funeral home. "A Tree will be planted in Memory of Virginia Hammons in the Badder & Robinson Memorial Forest, Mosa Twp."
