ANNE HARASYM Anne Harasym of Arborg, MB passed away on February 4, 2004 at 2:09 a.m. at the Victoria General Hospital, Winnipeg after an illness of 16 months. Anne was the second child of six to Jessie and Wasyl Harasym, born on October 20, 1921 on the family farm at Okno, MB, which is directly eight miles north of Arborg. The family moved to the town of Arborg in August 1928, where Anne obtained her high school education, prior to moving to Winnipeg in 1939 to start her working career. Annes first employment was with Breslauer and Warren on Portage Avenue and Vaughn Street at which time she also took a night course at Success Business College. After completing her course Anne worked as a secretary at various locations in the mining industry in Winnipeg, Calgary, Lynn Lake, Toronto and back to Winnipeg. Anne retired in 1986 moving back to Arborg with her sister Mary. One of Annes main objectives in life was to provide her parents with comfort and happiness. Anne remained single all her life and leaves to mourn her passing, her sister Mary of Arborg, brother Mike (Kae) of Winnipeg, and sister-in-law Olga of Arborg, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Anne was predeceased by her infant brother John in 1919, brother Bill in 1988 and brother Theodore in 2002. Service will be held on Saturday, February 7 at 1:00 p.m. in the Ardal - Geysir Lutheran Church in Arborg. Burial will be held at the Okno Cemetery. Pastor Trudy Sluth officiating. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
