EVELYN WILLIAMS (nee Humphreys) February 1, 1918 - February 4, 2004 It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of our Mom, Grandma and Great-grandma, Evelyn Williams, on February 4, 2004, at Pembina Place Mennonite Personal Care Home. She was predeceased by her dear husband of 52 years, Rowlie; her sister Harriet; brothers, Tommy and Gerry; and grandson Cameron. Evelyn leaves to cherish in her memory her two daughters, Margaret (Paul) and Marlene (Bud) grandchildren, Kimberly (Rick), Marnie (Roy), Brent (Brandi), Blaine (Lisa) and David (Michelle) great-grandchildren, Braden (Lisa), McCrae and Cianna; her sister Gladys (Alf), her brother George and sister-in-law Dora; along with many relatives and friends. Mom loved and lived her entire life in Winnipeg. She was devoted to her family. She loved baking for our Sunday dinners and shared some of her favourite recipes with her children and grandchildren. In fact, many of her special dishes are still honoured today. Aside from cooking, Mom had many talents. She sewed, bowled and was especially talented as a milliner. Mom was also very faithful to Harrow United Church where she helped to run the Seniors Club for many years - even after she was a senior. Long after Mom left the "Widows of Warsaw," she was still there in her heart. She too was especially proud of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grandma spent many summers at Grand Beach which had a special place in her heart. That was where she met the love of her life, Rowlie, with whom she walked the beach, played cards and shared many sunsets. Whether at Eire Rest or on Warsaw, Moms door was always open to family, friends and friends of friends. Her friendships were treasured and numerous. Mom had a real zest for life and was truly loved by all who were fortunate enough to know her. There are so many ways that Mom, Grandma enriched our lives, from playing bridge to singing at Christmas. Her many talents touched our lives and her memory will live on in our family. A celebration of Evelyns life will be held on Tuesday, February 10 at 2:30 p.m. in Harrow United Church, corner of Mulvey and Harrow. A very special thanks to the caring staff at Pembina Place for their love and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society of Manitoba, 302-171 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1M3, or a charity of ones choice.
