WILLIAM (BILL) HANISCHUK It is with deep sorrow that our family announces the passing of our husband, father, Gida, son-in-law and brother, William (Bill) Hanischuk. Peacefully, with his family at his side, William Hanischuk passed away Sunday, February 8, 2004 at the age of 69 years, after a full and happy life. Bill will be sadly missed by his wife of 49 years Lucy (nee Boyko) daughters, Anne Gordon (Brian), Catherine Morris (Clarence), Constance Neufeld (Ken), Angela Hanischuk (Ron) and grandchildren, Kaleigh-Anne (Chad), Kurtis, Ryan, Nicole, and William; sister Helen (Glenn) Gordon; mother-in-law Annie Boyko; step-grandchildren, Kevin (Diana), Kim (Dale) and great-step-grandchildren, Jacob and Kristiana; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends and also his extremely spoiled canine companion "Buster". He was predeceased by his parents, Margaret and Prokop Hanischuk; eight brothers and sisters; as well as two siblings in infancy. Bill was born in Tolstoi, MB on April 21, 1934. He retired from Manitoba Telephone System in 1989 after 33 years of service. His greatest love was his family. He loved cooking, baking and tasting what hed made. Bill was incredibly creative and talented, and enjoyed making pysanka, stained glass, woodworking, with a passion for flower gardening. Bill was extremely sociable and loved people - it seemed like he knew or was related to almost everyone. There is not enough paper to list all the committees, clubs, groups and organizations Bill was involved in over the years. Bill was always ready with a joke (minus the punch line) and had a great sense of humour, even to the end. With a kind and generous heart, he was a caring, sensitive and giving person. He had the gift of touching peoples hearts. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 11 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
