Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEVELYN MAY CLOSS (nee CANN) Evelyn May Closs beloved wife of Claude Closs, formally of Moose Jaw, SK passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home at the age of 82 years. She was born in Assiniboia, SK to Art and Edith Cann on November 27, 1921. Ev moved to Moose Jaw in the 1940s where she met and married Claude. The couple resided in Moose Jaw until moving to Winnipeg in 1972. Ev worked for Eatons in Winnipeg for a short time. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church in Moose Jaw and Faith Lutheran Church in Winnipeg, in which she served her Lord in various capacities. Ev was predeceased by her sister Doris McLachlan in 1996. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn of Portage La Prairie; two sons, Ricky (Emelia) grandchildren, Alana and Aaron of Shellbrook, SK, Kevin (Edna) grandchildren, Allison and Adam of Winnipeg; one brother Len Cann of Winnipeg and a sister Bernice Depew of San Jacnito, CA, also many nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Thursday, February 12 between 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Ave. Funeral service will take place on Friday, February 13 at 2:30 p.m. in the Faith Lutheran Church, 1311 Dakota St. Interment will be held at Sunset Cemetery, Moose Jaw, SK. If friends so desire, donations in Evelyns memory may be made to The Alzheimers Society of Manitoba Inc., 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or a charity of their choice.
