GWENDOLINE ALICIA PROCTOR (PROCTER) 1905 - 2004 Gwen passed away peacefully on February 10, at Stonewall Hospital, at the age of 98 years. She was predeceased by her husband Herb in 1980; her son Garth in 1999; her parents, Harry and Minnie (Mannix) her brothers, Ed, Jim, Reg, Herb; and sisters, Maddie and Irene, Eva and two in infancy. She is survived by two sons, Lloyd (Eleanor), Barry (Linda) and daughter-in-law Joan; as well as eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; also two brothers, Hugh and Sextus. Gwen was born and raised on the family farm in the Oswald District. She married Herb in 1928 and together they farmed in Woodlands. Gwens hobbies were quilting, sewing, cake decorating and she loved working in her vegetable and flower gardens, also curling was a favourite pastime. She was a faithful life member of St. Georges Anglican Church and the WA later called ACW, she also worked tirelessly at bake sales, teas and dinners. She was also a 4-H leader for many years and was always interested in her community. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were special to her. Friends may call on Sunday, February 15 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall. Funeral service will be held at Woodlands Community Hall, Monday, February 16 at 1:30 p.m. Rev. John Stennett will officiate with interment to follow at St. Georges Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Georges Church Woodlands. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
