Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLIVE CHRISTINA GOSHULAK (KENNEDY) With profound sorrow, we say goodbye to our dearest wife, mom, grandma and g.g. (Great-grandma), Ollie Goshulak. Surrounded by family, she peacefully passed away February 9, 2004, at Dauphin General Hospital. In Moms own words she recently told a family member: Im the last one to close the door on the Kennedy family. Olive Christina Goshulak was born at the Kennedy family farm, June 6, 1917, in Poplar Point, MB. She was predeceased by her parents, Johnny and Nellie Kennedy; eleven brothers and one sister. Left behind to mourn - but better people because of her unconditional love - are her loving husband Wally; daughter Pat and husband Gord; son Trevor; daughter Rae; grandchildren, Kristen and husband Steve, Tim and wife Kim, Glenn, Donna, Trevor Jr. and wife Tracey, Tracey and husband Brad, Debbie and Sam; great-grandchildren, Breanne, Jenna, Nicole, Kelsey, Amy, Hunter, Jaeger, Garrett and Chris. She will also be sadly missed by sister-in-law Mary; brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Wally; cousin Cathie and special just like our own Jim and Arlene Olynick and their boys, Drew and Roger. As a child, Mom traveled by horse cart to Portage for piano lessons. Although she could play Rachmaninoff with the best of them, she preferred to play by ear. She often made the old piano jump. In her declining years, Dad bought her a beautiful organ/piano, which she played daily. It was one of her special joys to play her favourite hymns. Mom worked at the Portage Home in her early years. After moving to Dauphin, she shared her ready smile and quick wit over a 25 year career in Stitts and Goodhands drugstores. She also made many friends in the various sports activities she loved. As a young woman she played baseball for Poplar Point and always felt privileged to have played ball with Sports Hall of Famer Olive Bend. She loved 10-pin bowling and became an excellent golfer, winning many Granny tournaments in Dauphin and surrounding districts. She even talked to Dad about a little game of golf this coming summer. Mom exemplified everything that is good and kind and loving and gentle. Her greatest love was for family, and was always so happy when surrounded by her family. She holds a very special place in the hearts of her grandchildren, who have many wonderful memories of summer at the cottage with Grandma and Papa. Ollie and Mom, we will forever cherish in our hearts your positive outlook, wonderful sense of humour, instant forgiveness and unconditional love. We know you are rejoicing with the angels, and are comforted that we will see you again in Heaven. We the family, wish to thank Drs. Paul Potoski and Sandra Clarke, as well as the Dauphin General Hospital staff -- both in intensive care and on the 2nd floor. Your superlative care, understanding, and extra mile activities for Mom and us are appreciated more than we can describe. Thanks, too, for the outpouring of love, prayers, food and consideration from friends, neighbours and extended family. Thank you for sharing in our grief. In accordance with Ollies wishes, cremation has taken place. Flowers are gratefully declined. Should friends or family so desire, contributions may be made to a charity of choice. Riverside Evergreen are in care of arrangements. A memorial service is to be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 13 at Riverside Evergreen Funeral Chapel, Captain Randy Gatza officiating. The service will conclude at the chapel. All of Ollies friends are to consider themselves Honorary Pallbearers. Rest Peacefully, Ollie and Mom, We Love You
