WITOLD MILEJSZO Peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2004, following a courageous battle with lung cancer, Witold, comforted by his wife and brother, passed away at the age of 48 years. Witold was born on June 2, 1955 in Winnipeg and attended Elmwood High School, where he met Diane, his wife of 26 years. Following graduation he was employed by Manitoba Hydro, then joined the family photography studio, which he jointly ran successfully for eight years. Wanting a new challenge, he began a Bachelor of Computer Science (Honours) degree at the University of Manitoba at the age of 30. After graduation, he was employed by Great West Life, Cargill, and finally IBM in Winnipeg where he made many friends. Witolds greatest love was for his family. They enjoyed snowmobiling and camping together. These were some of the most enjoyable family times. He also found time for many home projects including building Headingleys tallest tree house. Witold will always be remembered for his generosity and willing hands. He was actively involved as Peoples Warden and Worship Leader at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Headingley. He also served on Diocesan Council and the Executive Committee of the Ruperts Land Diocese. At Phoenix Elementary School, he served as vice-president and president of the Parent Council. Witold managed his journey with cancer with a grace and peace that brought comfort to all who knew him. He was greatly admired for his strength and faith. Witold is survived by his loving wife and sons, Diane, Evan and Ian. He also leaves to mourn his mother Barbara Milejszo; father Napolean Milejszo; brothers, Christopher (Praiya), Andrew (Margaret) and sister Anessa; nieces and nephews, Tristan, Sky, Dustin, Dave, Neera, Jessica and Colin; a large extended family and so many close friends. He was predeceased by sister Barbara in 1988. Cremation has taken place and a service of thanksgiving for Witolds life will be held Monday, February 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Donald and Graham. In lieu of flowers, family and friends may make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 2B7.
