HELEN RACH (nee SPREEN) October 31, 1913 - February 10, 2004 Peacefully, on Tuesday, February 10, 2004, Helen Rach passed away at the Red River Place, Selkirk, MB at the age of 90 years. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Eleanor (Tony) Rachuk of Stead; sons, Harold (Evelyn), Martin (Emily), all of Winnipeg, and Lloyd (Elaine) of Selkirk; her grandchildren, Bev, Yvonne, Kim, Kevin, Karen, Dean, Nicole, Kirk, Kenny, Lonny; her 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her sisters, Margaret Skaronek and Edna Singbeil; sisters-in-law, Ida Spreen and Mary Rach. Mom was predeceased by her husband Fred; her parents, Martin and Meta; sister Adele; brothers, Martin and Walter and an infant daughter. Mom was a very loving and caring person. She was always ready with the coffee pot in hand and ready to serve anyone that entered the door. She was described by many as a grand lady. She was also there to help at any community functions and many other occasions. Mom leaves a legacy of wonderful memories and life lessons to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be missed by many. Prayers will be held on Sunday, February 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Avenue East, Beausejour. Funeral service will be held on Monday February 16 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Judes Church, Grand Marais. Interment will follow at the Jack Fish Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers will be nephews, Walter Rach, Dennis Rach, Dwight Skaronek, Frank Singbeil, Walter Fey and Henry Spreen. The family would like to thank the staff at the Red River Place for the loving care of our Mom.
