ATKINSON Passed away peacefully, in the arms of her friend Dee Michael, at Seven Oaks Hospital on January 11, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. She is survived by her loving sister Gillian, her brother-in-law Darrell, her fiance Stan and her Aunt Mary and many cousins in Belfast, Ireland. Shawn was predeceased by her mother Kathleen, her father Ken and her older brother Keith. Shawn was a beautiful, kind, caring and giving sister and friend. She was an excellent cook and baker who loved to be in the kitchen making meals for her friends. She was an avid fan of Walt Disney movies and one of her favourite social pastimes was wiping out her competition in a friendly game of rummy. She will be sadly missed, but lovingly remembered. Family and friends would like to offer special appreciation and acknowledgement to the staff and residents of Luther Home for their excellent and respectful care of Shawn. We also want to thank the staff of Seven Oaks Hospital, 3rd floor, unit 6 and the emergency ward for their kind and understanding care of Shawn. Further, we would like to thank R & R Wheelchair Taxi service for their respectful and compassionate treatment of Shawn. The celebration of Shawns life will be held at a memorial service on Tuesday, February 17 at 10:30 a.m. at Luther Home located at 1081 Andrews St. The service will be presided over by Pastor Terry of Luther Home.
