Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySAMUEL MICHAEL LYLYK On February 13, 2004 Samuel Michael Lylyk went to be with our Lord. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 57 years, Mary; two children, Sharon (George), Gerald (Line) four grandchildren, Sarah, Mark, Jonathan and Sebastien and other family and friends. Samuel completed his high school education in Arran, SK. He chose his career as an accountant, and received his education in accounting in Regina, Winnipeg and Ottawa. Samuel served in the RCAF during the Second World War. The RCAF required Samuel to serve and live with his family in various places throughout Canada. He took early retirement from the RCAF in 1967 to assume the position of tax auditor for the Manitoba Provincial Government. Upon his retirement Samuel, together with his family, made his home in Winnipeg. Samuel held the following volunteer positions at different locations in Canada; secretary of Boy Scouts and Cubs; executive member of community council; volunteer with Revenue Canada in preparation of income tax returns for seniors, low income and newcomers; member of executive committee and treasurer of the Ottawa/Hull United Appeal Campaign; member of executive committee and financial team of the Manitoba Society of Seniors; bookkeeper for John XXIII R.C. Parish; executive committee member of various sports organizations; R.C. Church committee member; secretary of the RCAF Messes and Institutes; secretary Home and School Association. Viewing will take place on Tuesday, February 17 at 10:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church, 3390 Portage Ave. with Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H., V.F. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Samuels memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
