Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICTOR FREDERICK SHETTLER Peacefully passed away on February 13, 2004 at Riverview Health Centre in his 82nd year. Vic will be lovingly remembered by his wife Florence of 55 years; his four sons, Derek (Helen) and their children, Matthew, Adam and Andrea; Greg (Brenda) and Kyle; Blair (Maria) and their children, Mia, Carli and Gio; Bryan (Sue) and their children, Heather and Eric. He is also survived by his sister Millie (Arnold) Ellis and his brothers, Ernie (Janet) and Allan (Gertie). Vic was born in Tenby, MB on June 16, 1922. He served in the RCN during the Second World War. He was a member of Canadian Legion 215 and was employed by Woolco until retirement. He was a long-time member of the Manitoba Hockey Foundation. Dad devoted many years as a coach and manager of the Manitoba Oldtimers Hockey Team, raising funds for numerous charities throughout Manitoba. Vic was an avid golfer and member of Elmhurst Golf & Country Club for 35 years and would spend endless enjoyable hours on the practice fairway. Because of Dads love of sports he was always active and supportive of his sons golf and hockey endeavours. The family wishes to express thanks to the Oncology Department at Seven Oaks; Dr. K. Saunders and Dr. J.D. Lezak; the community and Riverview palliative care staff who showed him compassion and kindness. With respect to Dads wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Vics life will be held Sunday, March 14 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the Canadian Legion 125 - 3600 DeVries, East St. Paul. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cancer Society of Manitoba or a charity of your choice. Say, "goodnight to me." - "Goodnight to me."
