IRENE ALICE SIMPSON Peacefully on Saturday, February 14, 2004 at the Stonewall and District Health Centre, Irene Simpson, aged 95 years, of Stonewall and formerly of Balmoral passed away. She was predeceased by her husband Danny 1992 and six siblings. Surviving to mourn her loss two daughters, Marilyn of Winnipeg, Fay (Charlie) Dunlop of Argyle; grandchildren, Brian (Kerryn) of Winnipeg, Erin (Steven) Hogg of Argyle, Jamie of Argyle; great-grandson Tyler Hogg; two sisters, Ethel Louie of Holland, MB and Evelyn Breault of Deloraine, MB. Irene was born February 8, 1909 in Holland, MB. She completed her schooling in Holland and Neepawa. She attended Normal School in Brandon and taught at several country schools including Gunton, where she met and married Danny Simpson. She lived in Balmoral all her married life. In 2003 she moved to Goodwin Lodge in Teulon and later to Rosewood Lodge in Stonewall where she remained until her passing. Irene was an honorary member of the Curling Club, a life member of the UCW, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and played the organ. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Balmoral United Church, Balmoral, MB. Rev. Barbara Ann Bryant-Anstie will officiate with interment to follow at the Victoria Cemetery, Balmoral. Donations may be made to the Balmoral United Church, CNIB, or a charity of ones choice.
