CHARLES ERNEST LaFLEUR January 20, 1941 - February 15, 2004 Suddenly, on Sunday, February 15, 2004 Charlie passed away at the age of 63 years. Survived by his wife Ethel; son Sonny; daughters, Paulette (Chris) Mason, granddaughters, Kya and Ali, Cindi (Gary) Burak; grandchildren, Cassidy and Brayden of Calgary; Sister June (Cliff) Cooke; brother Don (Carol) LaFleur; brother-in-law Dennis Grimolfson and many nieces and nephews. Charlie was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Bernice and Betty. His family grew up in the West End of Winnipeg. Nicknamed Sonny as a child, he spent morning to night at the hockey rink. He called himself a rink rat and maybe thats why he was such a great skater (and dancer too!) Charlie loved all sports, golf, hockey, football and baseball. He enjoyed coaching Sonny in hockey, Paulette in baseball and driving his children to a variety of activities. He was an active member of both Isaac Brock and Victoria Community Clubs. After receiving his business degree from Red River C. C., he was a salesman all his life. He worked mostly in the two-way communications business for companies like Motorola. After his retirement, he became very involved in St. Andrews Church, and he enjoyed spending time with his friends and family too. Charlies health had failed him in the past few years but he never lost his spunk. He was born in Winnipeg and lived his whole life here trying to help others. His favourite song was Willie Nelsons, On the Road Again, may there be music for you, rest in peace Dad. In keeping with his wishes, a private interment will take place on Friday, February 20 followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at St. Andrews River Heights United Church, 255 Oak St. with Rev.
