DORIS STEPHY McMULLEN (DEMERY) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Doris McMullen (Demery) of Teulon, MB on February 13, 2004. Doris was the daughter of the late Nestor Demery and Anna Demery. Born November 17, 1917 in Winnipeg. She spent many years as a hairdresser in Montreal, before retiring in Teulon. Doris had a quick wit and a great sense of humour. She loved sports and was a good golfer and fabulous bowler. She was a fantastic mother to her two sons, whom she brought up by herself. She is survived by son Jim McMullen of Halifax and son Dennis McMullen of Toronto; grandchildren, Glenn, Mark, and Scarlett and grandchildren, Tina, Emily, and Ryan; great-grandchild Imogen; brothers, Steven Demery of Winnipeg, Bill Demery of Teulon, and George Demery of California. Doris was a strong independent woman, who left behind a legacy of strong will, courage and love. She always spoke highly of the Teulon Home Care workers, who took such great care of her over many years. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Teulon with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. A special thank you is extended to the doctors and staff of the Teulon Hospital and the management and staff of the Teulon Home Care for their compassionate care.
