Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGETTE ROY (nee TRUDEL) September 5, 1953 - February 16, 2004 Peacefully with her family by her side, on February 16, 2004, Georgette passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. In the prime of her life, she was taken away from her loving family and friends. Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband Gerald; her children, Nadine and Daniel; father Jean; mother Therese; brothers, Robert (Huguette), Michel, Maurice (Carmen) sisters, Christine Collette (Dave), and Johanne Choquette (Denys) father-in-law Dominique; mother-in-law Irene; sisters-in-law, Suzette McCrum (Terry), Monique, Micheline Carstairs (Ken) brothers-in-law, Robert (Alice), Martial, Luc (Jacinthe), Patrick (Tammy), as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was predeceased by her sisters, Gisele in 1953, Lynne in 1955, and Rachel in 1956. Georgette was a devoted wife and mother who always welcomed friends and family with open arms. The welfare of her family was of utmost importance. Her unconditional love was a source of strength and inspiration. Georgette grew up in St. Malo, MB. She moved to Winnipeg in 1970 and began her career of almost 30 years working in various departments at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Her many creative talents included ceramics, gardening and cooking. Throughout her battle with cancer, Georgette gave us strength with her courage and constant smiles. She also maintained her great sense of humour and determination till the very end. "Tu seras toujours dans nos coeurs!" Prayers will be held on Wednesday, February 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 DesMeurons St. The celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, February 19 at the Blessed Sacrament Church, located at 425 Rosseau Ave. East, at 11:00 a.m. A private family inurnment of the cremated remains will take place at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 0 Blk-409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg MB R2H 2A6. We would like to thank the staff at CancerCare and the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital.
