Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET RAE SHAVER Margaret Rae Shaver, born November 1, 1918 in Winnipeg, MB, died February 15, 2004 in Eugene, OR. Her parents were Robert A. and Margaret D. (Barr) Stewart. On June 26, 1943 she married Ward A. Shaver. Ward preceded her in death on September 30, 1989; a son, Robert Ward also preceded her in death. Surviviors include her sons, James A. of Victoria, BC, David B. of Denver, CO, Rodger W. of Eugene, OR, and Robert S. of Winona, MN. She has eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Margarets parents were Scottish immigrants and she had some of the strength of Scotland throughout her life. As a youth, she was an accomplished Highland dancer and graduated from the University of Winnipeg (United College). She moved with her husband, Ward to Fergus Falls, MN in 1952, raising her family there. She was active in the Federated Church and was an early supporter of Fergus Falls Community College. She enjoyed golfing, swimming and reading. After Wards retirement in 1983 they divided their time between Ft. Myers, FL and their cabin on Swan Lake near Fergus Falls. Since 1999 she has spent time in Eugene, OR. Arrangements for a memorial service at Federated Church in Fergus Falls, MN are pending.
