Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNICK SHEPEL September 1, 1973 - February 17, 2004 Passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones. He will be remembered in loving memory by his partner Sherrie Kelly; his mother Evelyn Shepel; his father Nicholas Shepel; twin sister Susan Lepki; sisters, Mary and Christina Shepel; brothers-in-law, George Lepki and John Kaminski, many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and treasured friends. Nick was a very special and loving man. His drive for life, despite the health challenges he faced, was an inspiration to everyone whose lives he touched. He enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends, and cherished the simple things. Nick grew up on a farm in Portage la Prairie, which gave him a great appreciation for the outdoors, and he especially enjoyed travelling, cycling, fishing and hiking. He graduated with his PhD in Neuropharmacology and dedicated his life to scientific research, always seeking new challenges. As per Nicks wishes, no formal memorial service will be held, as he would like to be remembered in life. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the account held in trust for Nick Shepel, account number 6266570-6508 at any TD Canada Trust Bank for the purpose of furthering the "Nick Shepel - Meeting of the Minds" initiative that Nick created, whereby research scientists gathered to promote and share ideas.
