CAROLYN DOROTHEA HOLMBERG Carol passed away with her family by side on Thursday, February 19, 2004. Carol is survived by her three brothers, Vern (Lottie) of Hope, BC, Gordon (Margaret) and Edward of Winnipeg and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Hilda Holmberg; brothers Norman, Jimmie and Leonard. Carol was born on February 7, 1941 and attended Transcona Central School. She was a very caring and compassionate person. She loved her home and enjoyed working in her yard. She had a great love of animals, especially her cat Missey and dog Sam. Carol took a hairdressing course when she finished high school and worked in Kenora, Portage and Winnipeg. When she wanted a change, she went to work at Jostens, where she enjoyed over 25 years of service. Her youth was spent at the family cottage at Rice Lake, ON. We would like to thank her neighbour Wally for all her kindness to Carol over the years. Also thanks to her very good friend Margaret Perkins, her friendship meant so much to Carol. Thank you to all her friends at Jostens who always remembered her after she took ill. She enjoyed working with all of you. Many thanks to Lori Levigne and Dr. Dabrawska at the St. Boniface Cancer Care and to Dr. Butler at the Health Sciences Centre Cancer Care. Also thanks to the compassionate doctors and nurses at the Emergency ward of the St. Boniface hospital on Wednesday. Your devotion and kindness will always be remembered. Cremation has already taken place and there will be no formal service.
