VELMA SMART (RIDINGS) 1918 - 2004 Peacefully with her daughters at her side, we announce the passing of our dearly loved mother, Velma at the Grace Hospice. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Sandra (Gerry), Janice (Bob), Lois (Jack) and grandchildren, Larissa, Nicole (Jason) James, Katrina, Amber (Brad), Marnie, Richard and Stacy; as well as great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brandon, Sydney and Cole. She is also survived by her sister Nora (Tom) and her sister-in-law Ada. Velma was predeceased by her husband Alex and her sister Edna. Velma was born in Winnipeg, MB November 1, 1918 and resided here all her life. She married Alex in 1941 and dedicated her life to her family. The family would like to thank all her visitors and friends for their support, a special thanks to Dr. Breckman and the staff and volunteers at the Grace Hospice for their compassionate and excellent care. In keeping with her wishes a private service will be held. As an expression of sympathy donations can be made to the Grace Hospice at 260 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, MB R3J 3R5.
