Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHELEN IRENE WALSH Suddenly, on February 18, 2004 Helen Walsh passed away. Helen was born in Thornton, ON on December 2, 1911. Helen was predeceased by her husband John Alfred in 1975 and her eldest son Paul in 1985. She is survived by her son Stephen and her daughter Susan (Don) five grandchildren, Patrick, Sean (Leah), Shannon (John), Corey and Hallie and three great-grandchildren, John Paul, Axel and Natalia. Helen is also survived by two sisters, Mary and Jean. She was predeceased by her brother Bill and sisters, Rose and Agnes. Helen, Jack and their three children moved to Winnipeg in 1951. In 1976, Helen began working at various part-time jobs, notably at Patersons Bedding Plants and at Niemans Pharmacy on Corydon Avenue. She also worked as a coat checker at the Hotel Fort Garry for many years. Helen was a strong-willed woman and a devoted wife and mother whose sole pride was her family. She cherished her children and grandchildren as she watched them grow. She was especially delighted to have been a part of the lives of her great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staffs of Golden Links Lodge, Fred Douglas Heritage House, Misericordia Health Centre and St. Boniface General Hospital for the care and comfort they have shown Helen the past five years. According to Helens final wishes, she was cremated and a private memorial held for the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice.
