JOHN M. "JOCK" LUNEY John M. Jock Luney, 80, Grand Forks, North Dakota, died Sunday, February 22, 2004 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks. John was born in Transcona, Manitoba, Canada on January 24, 1924, the son of William and Matilda (Clyde) Luney. He grew up in Canada, and served in the Royal Canadian Army during the Second World War. John and Dorothy Stady were married on July 22, 1948 at Winnipeg, MB, Canada. They moved to the United States following their marriage. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; their children, John (Bev) Luney of Honolulu, HI, Dan (Sharon) Luney of Grand Forks, ND, Corinne (Jim) Satrom of Grand Forks, Ken (Lori) Luney, Grand Forks, Tom (Patti) Luney, Grand Forks, and Mary Jane (Scott) Thomsen, Brighton, MI; 11 grandchildren; his sisters, Doreen Dartnell and Edna Jones. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Matilda; brothers, Robert and William; and a sister, Jenny. Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2004 in First Presbyterian Church, 5555 South Washington St., Grand Forks. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday in Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 South 42nd St., Grand Forks, and one hour prior to the service in the church.
