GORDON VICTOR PEARSON
Date of Passing: Feb 24, 2004
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGORDON VICTOR PEARSON On February 24, 2004, Gordon Victor Pearson passed on at the Selkirk General Hospital after a short illness. Gordon and his wife Esther celebrated their 50th anniversary last year. He was proud of his family, Lorne (Jennifer), Jane Brown (Calvin), Nancy Mackie (Bruce) and Michael (Yvonne). He had eight loved grandchildren, Matthew and Zachary Pearson, Laura, Sarah and Erin Brown, Meaghan and Duncan Mackie, and Cole Pearson. Born in Winnipeg, Gordon apprenticed with a chartered accountant company and graduated as a CA in 1948, sharing the highest mark award. He remained a lifetime member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts, spending most of his working life in the Calgary oil industry. His expertise was recognized in surviving many company "take overs". Gordons most cherished position was with Canadian Fina as Chief Accountant where he enjoyed many years of success and made lasting friendships. When Fina was purchased by Petro-Canada, he declined the offer to continue working in the industry. Gordon and his wife returned to his wifes "hometown" of Clandeboye, MB, where he designed their home and spent 20 years of happy retirement. He took great pleasure in listening to music and designing his flower gardens as well as taking photographs, completing detailed photo albums and hooking many rugs. Gordon was greatly loved and he will be greatly missed. At Gordons request no formal funeral will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arc Industries, 306 Jemima St., Selkirk, MB R1A 1X1 or to a charity of your choice. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
