She is survived by her son Jim (Karen), sister Bernie (Bill) of Fort Frances, two grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband George. Jessie was raised in Brooklands and later moved to St. Vital when she married George. In 1965 they moved to Windsor Park. The following year her husband passed away. She stayed in the family home for the next 38 years. Jessie worked at Eatons for many years and later worked for several years in the provincial department of natural resources from where she retired. Jessie and George spent many an enjoyable summer weekend at Royal Lake where fishing was the activity of choice. Early in life Jessie enjoyed music and dancing. Later in life it was the home that important to her. Throughout life she enjoyed her flower garden especially the roses. Last year Jessie joined the Wednesday seniors group that met at the Y. She enjoyed the weekly outings and luncheons and especially enjoyed the Christmas party. She was an active participant in all her sons woodworking projects. Jessie always looked forward to visits and phone calls from neighbours, friends and relatives. She really was excited to have kids around such as Tessa, Tanner and Dylan. Jessie developed many lasting friendships. The friendship and the assistance given to Jessie over the past 38 years by her neighbours Betty and Joe was always appreciated. Regular Sunday dinners - first without Karens mom and now without Jims mom - are not going to be the same. A private service was held at Brookside Cemetery on Friday, February 27.
