LYDIA MARY KURIATA (nee MYNARSKI) Peacefully and surrounded by her family, Lydia passed away on February 25, 2004 at the Salvation Army Grace Hospice. Lydia was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Caroline Mynarski; and by her Husband Stanley Kuriata; and her brother Walter Mynarski. Left to cherish her memory are her son Mark and friend Doreen; daughter Kristine Kuriata of Winnipeg; daughter Carol and husband Dr. Tom Ackerman; grandchildren, Lauren and Mathew of Edmonton; sister-in-law Francis and nephew Dennis Mynarski of Calgary; niece Wendy and husband David Yeager and children, Torrence and Andrew of Fair Oaks Ranch, CA. Lydia worked as Registered Nurse until her retirement in 1992. Not wanting to be idle she volunteered at several agencies including Age and Opportunity, Consumer Education Volunteer Program and the Manitoba Consumer and Corporate Affairs. In her spare time Lydia loved to read a good book while listening to opera or classical music. She also enjoyed her many trips to Edmonton to visit her grandchildren, Lauren and Mathew. The family would like to thank Dr. J. Mulder, St. Boniface Hospital Unit 5B Medicine, The St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit and the Salvation Army Grace Hospice for all their kindness during Moms stay, and special thanks to friends, June, Nelly, Estelle, Jean, Francis, Terry, Donna, Justine, Khari and Jaeyln for all their kindness and support. Cremation has taken place and a service to celebrate her life will take place on March 6 at Saint Marys Polish National Catholic Church, 361 Burrows Ave., Winnipeg, MB at 1:00 p.m. Very Rev. Msgr. W.
