JOHN ALBERT MICHAEL RYAN February 6, 1936 - February 23, 2004 It has been a gift to have loved and been loved by John as a husband, father and grandfather who with quiet dignity passed away on Monday, February 23, 2004. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Noreen; daughters, Cynthia, grandchildren, Chloe and Kyle; Cecilia (Mike), grandchildren, Brendan and Nicole; as well as Aunt Ethel and family. John was born in Regina, SK, the only child of Michael Thomas Ryan and Jean Ruth Ryan (Checkey). Following the death of both parents at the age of 6, John moved to Clandeboye, MB to live with his Uncle Bert and Aunt Ethel Ryan, where he attended school. He was competitive in sports especially curling which became a lifetime passion. Throughout Johns life he worked at the RCAF as an instrument technician. He married and enjoyed the birth of his two daughters. He was employed with the insurance industry as well as Mini Mart, and for the majority of his life he owned and operated "Variety Vegetables" on Henderson Highway. He was also employed at Canadian Corp. of Commissionaires from 1992 to present. Special thanks to Jean, Ruth and Kitty for their support and friendship. The family would like to acknowledge the HSC Kidney Transplant Clinic for the many years of ongoing care. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Glen Eden Funeral Home. Monsignor McCloskey officiating. To honour Johns love of curling, The JAM Ryan Memorial Award has been established. Friends who so desire contributions may be made at the Royal Bank (Semple and Main).
