Lillian was part of a large extended family from St. Theresa Point and Wassagamack and also the communities of the Interlake Region as well. She spent 26 years in St. Theresa Point and built long-lasting, loving relationships with people young and old. Lillian grew up in Lake Manitoba reserve. She was the oldest of 12 children. She attended Assiniboia Residential School. She pursued a career in Nursing and worked in the health field for a few years. She attended Brandon University where she obtained her four year Bachelor of Education Degree. It was there in Brandon where she met lifetime partner Charles. She worked as both teacher and administrator for 26 years, teaching hundreds of children who she always thought and spoke highly of. Lillian was very outgoing and loved to laugh. She will be missed by those who remember her sense of humour and her ability to make friends instantly. She was a great cook and hostess. Many will remember the gatherings at her house where family laughed and loved. Lillian began her courageous and unforgettable battle with cancer a year and a half ago. Throughout her illness, she comforted her husband, family and friends. She would often say, "Dont worry. Im going to be okay". In her struggle, Lillian always thought of others before herself. Lillian was a devoted wife, mother and sister. She worked full time and raised a fine family, instilled with values, to carry her memory for generations to come. Wake services were held at her home in St. Theresa Point from Saturday, February 21 to Monday, February 23. The funeral service was held at the St. Theresa Point Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 24 at 2:00 p.m. We the family would like to thank the Chief and Council and the community of St. Theresa Point for their support and kindness. A special thanks to Margaret Kakegamic for all shes done, and a special mention to Lillians "son", Elton (Candice) and their daughter Sietta.
