Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES DAY Died peacefully at home in St. Laurent, MB on February 25, 2004 at the age of 85 years. Born January 4, 1919 in Winnipeg. Beloved husband of Sally of 58 years. He leaves to mourn his wife Sally and six children, James Jr., Laurence (Shirley), Sharon (Tom Jr.), Lorraine, Jocelyn and Michael. Two brothers, Bill (Pat) Weaver, David Weaver and sister Gloria Sech. Jim had eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Jim joined the army on January 4, 1940 with the Princess Pats Canadian Light Infantry and served in Sicily Italy. He was involved with the Manitoba Metis from its beginning. He was the vice president of the Metis Federation in the Interlake. Also in the community of St. Laurent. Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of the Resurrection on Tuesday, March 2 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Rene Katcha Digba officiating. Interment will follow at a later date at Brookside Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be his six grandchildren, Darcy Day, Daniel Day, Curtis Burgel, Jerediah Day, Miles Day, Justin Lambert. The family would like to thank the many family and friends for their prayers and words of kindness. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
