ISABELLA KIRK DUNCAN Peacefully, on Thursday, February 26, 2004 at the Betel Home in Gimli, Isabella Duncan, aged 99 years, beloved wife of the late John Duncan (1968). She is survived by her children, Robert (Margaret), John (Debbie) and Margaret (Edward) grandchildren, Robert, David (Elizabeth), Paul (Margaret), Edward and Lahra (George) great-grandchildren, Cameron, Burton, Megan, Christina, Ryan, Karla, Travis and Jessica. Isabella was born in Edinburgh, Scotland on June 15, 1904. Both Isabella and John were active in the community of Gimli, through the Legion, Lutheran Church and the Womens Institute. She was a great dart player at the Legion with many trophies to attest to her skill. Isabella was also very active in the Gimli Seniors Square Dancing Club. She lived in the Betel Home Apartments until 1994, when she moved into the home. Her happy disposition and her whistling while walking the hallways will be remembered by many. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 2 at 1:00 p.m. in the Gimli Lutheran Church with Pastor George Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Gimli Community Cemetery. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Betel Home for the loving care given to mother. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made the Royal Canadian Legion, Gimli in her memory. Rest in Peace, Mom. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
