HOWARD ARTHUR SCOTT Born January 8, 1915 in Deloraine, MB. Peacefully, but after several years of struggling with ill health, Howard Scott passed away on February 25, 2004 at Maples Personal Care Home in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 89. Howard was predeceased by his wife, Mabel in 1986; wife Beatrice in 1958; sister Alice Hooper; and parents, Albert and Maude Scott of Swan River, MB. Howard grew up in the Swan River Valley, working in the dray business with his father in Bowsman, and as a general farm labourer. He joined the army in 1943 and resided in Winnipeg upon his Honourable Discharge. While living in Winnipeg, he worked at the Health Sciences Centre and together with Mabel were caretakers at the apartment block at 30 Spence St. until his retirement. Howard married his first wife Beatrice in 1949 in Swan River, MB. Howard met and married his second wife, Mabel in Winnipeg in 1960. Howard will be remembered as a man of strength in his beliefs. His family was an important factor in his life. He will be missed by numerous nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Funeral service to be held on Saturday, February 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an organization of your choice.
