Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLAWRENCE BARANIUK 1931 - 2004 On February 26, 2004 Lawrence Baraniuk passed peacefully following a brief illness at St. Boniface Hospital. Born March 8, 1931 in Mountain Road, MB, Lawrence graduated from education in Yorkton, SK. Lawrence taught school for a year prior to joining the Manitoba Power Commission in 1951. He started his 39 and a half year career as a field crew timekeeper in Brandon. Lawrence transferred to Hydros head office in 1957 where he met his loving wife Joan. Lawrence retired in 1990 as the marketing manager for Manitoba Hydro. Lawrence was well known in the community for his volunteer and charitable efforts, working for and chairing many worthwhile organizations including: The Winnipeg Saints Hockey Club, Special Olympics and The United Way. Lawrence was also well known for his genuine handshake and kind whisper, "God bless you" to those who had the pleasure of his aquaintence. Lawrence was predeceased by his father Nick, sister Inky and son Mark. Left to mourn are his wife of 45 years Joan; his son Chris; daughter Marcy (Wayne Armstrong) granddaughter Wynne; mother Annie Baraniuk; sisters, Marg (Jack Forsythe), Betty and Bernadette (Wayne Phelps) and many other close family and friends. Thanks to Dr. Casey Woo and the staff at St. Boniface Hospital. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 2 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Rd., with Rev. Fr. Fred Olds presiding. A private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Alzheimers Society. P.COUTU & CO.
