NINA IWANIW (DENISIUK)

NINA IWANIW (nee DENISIUK) After a courageous battle with cancer, Nina Iwaniw passed away on February 28, 2004 at the age of 66 years. Her memory will be forever cherished by her companion and soul mate of 22 years, Ron Stupak; brother Curt Denysiuk; sisters, MaryAnn Bodnarus (Walter) and Violet Kowalewich (Don) nieces and nephews, Veronica Genaille (Craig), Leagh Denysiuk (Arleigh), Frederick, Carla and Lisa Bodnarus, Brent Kowalewich (Tania), Laura Kowalewich and cousins in Toronto. Nina was predeceased by her mother, Alexandra in 1991 and father John in 1992. Nina was born on January 28, 1938 in Poland. Her early years were spent in Ethelbert, MB. In 1955, Nina moved to Winnipeg where she spent the rest of her life. She was employed as a secretary at CP Rail in the marketing and sales department for 35 years, retiring in February 1993. Nina enjoyed golfing, curling, bowling, dancing, playing cards and travelling. Nina and Ron travelled extensively to different parts of the world including Mexico, Hawaii, Cuba, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. They also enjoyed spending their winter holidays in Harlingen, Texas with friends Barry and Dianne Johnson. A special thanks to the staff at the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital and Dr. Maxwell and staff at the Victoria Hospital Oncology Department. In accordance with Ninas wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg, MB. A private burial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ninas memory to the St. Boniface Palliative Care Endowment Fund, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Ron for being so caring and compassionate during Ninas illness. Forever loved and will be remembered by the family.
