LENA PEILUCK (nee SAMBORSKI) Peacefully, on Sunday, February 29, 2004, Lena Peiluck passed away at the age 86 years at the Betel Home in Gimli. She was predeceased by her husband, Nick on May 2, 1989. Lena will be sadly missed by her children, Victor (Georgina), Jean (Art) Cholette, Ron (Effie), Edward (Marion), Charles and David; grandchildren, Kimberly, Craig, Karen and Kurt; her great-grandson, Dorien; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the youngest and last survivor of the Samborski family of seven, (Anne, Jenny, Celia, Metro, John and Victor). Lena was born in Foley, MB on January 31, 1918. She married Nick Peiluck on November 20, 1937 in Komarno and together they settled on part of the Peiluck homestead in Gimli. She lived the pioneer way of life, loved gardening, cooking and baking. She also enjoyed listening to Ukrainian music. Lena loved her children and grandchildren. She was a kind and gentle person who always thought of other peoples needs first. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 4 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Gimli. Interment will follow in the North Foley Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be Craig Peiluck, Kurt Peiluck, John Peiluck, Peter Peiluck, Gerry Bohonos and Art Cholette. The family would like to thank the staff at the Gimli Betel Home and Dr. Patel.
