NORMAN FRANCIS ELHATTON November 12, 1924- March 1, 2004 Peacefully on March 1, 2004 at Deer Lodge Centre with family by his side, Norman passed away at the age of 79 years old. He was predeceased by his wife, Odile, on February 14, 2004. They were married for 51 years. Norman leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Mona Devion (Rick) sons, Patrick and Raymond (Sandy) grandchildren, Sean (Amanda), Krista, Sarah-Rae and Christina; sister Shirley (Seano) Scaletta. He was predeceased by his brothers, Les, Glenn and sisters, Irene and Bernice. Norman was born in Winnipeg where he lived all his life. In his younger years he loved visiting the farm in Hazel Ridge (Oakbank) and spending fun filled summers at Winnipeg Beach. Norman served during the Second World War as a member of the Merchant Navy and was a long standing member of the Norwood Legion. After the war, Norman was employed at the CNR, City of Winnipeg and Modern Dairies. Norman was a gentle, kind and loving person who was extremely proud of his wife and family. He had a quick wit and a great sense of humour. He loved spending time at his brother Less ranch on the outskirts of Calgary admiring the mountain view and the tranquility. Norman bonded with many special family members and especially treasured and frequently spoke about his fond memories of the Winnipeg 2002 Elhatton Family Reunion. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff and volunteers of Tower 4 at Deer Lodge Centre for all their care and compassion. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 5 at the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 778 Archibald St., with Fr. Ron Leger, C.S.V. presiding. Inurnment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Normans memory may be made to the Deer Lodge Centre Foundation or CancerCare Manitoba. "Dad may you rest in peace forever with Mom by your side."
