JAMES (JIM) PASSEY March 2, 2004 Peacefully at the Golden Door Geriatric Centre on March 2, 2004, at the age of 90 years. He is predeceased by his loving wife Anne; his parents, Agnes and James; and his brothers, Harold, Thomas and Russell. He leaves to cherish his memory his son Brian and daughter-in-law Annette (of Ottawa) his three grandchildren, Graham (San Francisco), Craig (Phoenix) and Karen (Los Angeles). He is also survived by his sisters, Evelyn Gray (Penticton) and Shirley Wasney (Winnipeg) and brother Jack (Winnipeg). Jim was born in Winnipeg and joined the RCAF in 1940 and over the next 23 years with his wife Anne moved to RCAF bases in Trenton, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Gimli, Edmonton, Zweibrucken, Germany, Marville and Metz, France. Upon his retirement from the RCAF in 1963 they returned to Winnipeg and settled down in Charleswood where they resided for 40 years. Jim, after his retirement, started his second career with Transair, and later Canadian Pacific until retirement. He loved his curling and golf both as a player and as a spectator. At Jims request, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home on Monday, March 8 at 3:00 p.m. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, if family and friends desire, donations may be made in Jims name to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
