AMERENCIA (EM) RUSE (nee SMITH) 1912 - 2004 On March 2, 2004 Amerencia (Em) Ruse passed away peacefully at age 91 with family members at her bedside in Luther Home. Em is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Harry. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by daughters, Norma Cameron, Margaret Ann (Ken) Wilson, Grace (Bryan) Tokle; grandchildren, Barbara, Donna (Darnell), Heather (Jay), Amber, Rhonda, Deborah and Kathryn; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Tunis (Helen), Albert and Rita. Em, a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Flin Flon and Kildonan Community Church in Winnipeg, was a devout Christian, a life member of the Womens Missionary Society, a leader of church youth groups, and a consummate cook and camp Mum at Prescawa and Simonhouse. Her skill as a cook, baker and hostess was only surpassed by her love of laughter and practical jokes. Her warm hospitality was enjoyed throughout the years not only by extended family but also missionaries, supply ministers, international students and senior citizens. Despite some challenging times in her life, she shared her gift of service in support of Harry, her family and the elderly, and enjoyed the hobbies of sewing, knitting, doing crosswords and reading. As a Rotary Ann, she supported Harrys long time service in Rotary and became a Paul Harris Fellow. Mom had a life-long sense of adventure, loved travelling and enjoyed telling tales of shaking hands with Indira Ghandi, riding elephants and camels. The family wishes to acknowledge the outstanding care provided to Em by the loving staff at Luther Home, her residence for over six years. A Memorial Service will be held at Kildonan Community Church on Saturday, March 6 at 2:00 p.m. A reception will follow immediately at the church. If friends or family so desire, memorial contributions may be made to: Kildonan Community Church, 2373 Main St., Winnipeg, MB. R2B 4T6. THOMSON Funeral Chapels - 669 Broadway - 783-7211
