MARGARET EDITH SHUSHKEWICH On Wednesday, March 3, 2004, after a lengthy illness, Margaret Shushkewich, beloved wife of Harry Shushkewich, passed away peacefully at the Concordia Hospital at age 82. Margaret leaves to mourn and cherish her memory, her husband Harry; son Merlin (Delores) Prettie and grandchildren, Andrea, Trina and Jackie; special nephew Kelly (Cathy) and two grandchildren, Dillon and Samantha; sister Betty; sisters-in-law, Kay and Ramona and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, William (Bill) and Florence Prettie; sisters, Iona, Alice and Hazel and brother Dick. Margaret was born on March 24, 1921 in Winnipeg, MB and had worked hard at various jobs throughout her life. She had made her home in Selkirk, Thunder Bay, ON and for the last 40 years, was a resident of Transcona. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Caners, the staff on the 3rd Floor, with special thanks to nurses, Nicole and Youngsook, for all of their care and compassion. Memorial service to be held on Friday, March 5 at 2:30 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with Rev. Jeff Cook officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so wish, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
