ALFRED MENSFORTH Peacefully, in his sleep, Alf passed away on March 4, 2004 at Lions Manor in his 94th year. Alf is predeceased by his wife Mabel, three years previous; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mensforth; brothers, Allen, Alec; and sister Hilda. Alf is survived by his sisters, Lily Johnson, Betty (Bob) Brooke; and numerous nieces and nephews. Alf started working various jobs including storekeeper at Slave Falls after completing his school days at Luxton School. Alf joined the P.P.C.L.I for six years. It was during this time he was hospitalized where he met his wife Mabel. He worked at City Dairy before being employed at Westinghouse until he retired. Alf and Mabel enjoyed many rollicking camping trips. They wintered in Mesa, AZ and spent summers at their cottage at Lake Shore Heights with the company of friends and family. Special thanks to Bob Brooke, Ralph Brooke and Glenda Dean for all their support in the care of Alf.
