ROY A. PEABODY 1936 - 2004 With heavy hearts we announce Roys passing on January 26, 2004. As in life, Roy was surrounded by his family for his final journey. Roy was predeceased by parents and young brother Freddie. Lovingly remembered and dearly missed by wife Bernice; daughter Tammy (Andrew), grandson Drew; son Tim (Kim), grandson Jack, and new granddaughter Ellie. Lifelong memories held by brothers, John (Jeanne), Bob (Ann), Pat (Elaine) sister-in-law Darlene (Ron), numerous nephews, nieces, extended family, friends, neighbours and acquaintances too numerous to mention. Roy had a long career with CN Rail in many varied capacities, upon which he took early retirement in 1992. Roy also dabbled in the shoe business; at one time he was part owner of Tiffanys Shoe Salon. Following retirement, Roy was an active and dedicated volunteer for many organizations from hockey programs to perogy making and enjoyed all immensely. He was a member of the CN Pensioners Bowling team. Roy enjoyed many years of travelling, big trips, little jaunts and especially casino trips. He will always be remembered for his hearty laugh, sense of humour and charm. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. A. McGowan, Dr. A. Jeyakumar, Unit 3 Medicine nurses and staff at Victoria Hospital for their excellent care, compassion and understanding. Special thanks also to Pastor Kurt Schwartz for his prayers and visits and Alex Beal of Palliative Care. Donations to Victoria Hospital Foundation or charity of choice if desired. Flowers most gratefully declined. We welcome all who knew Roy to join us for a memorial and Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 12 at Maples Multiplex, 454 Adsum.
