THERESA JACQUELINE MARIE STORKSON-SLEEMAN After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Theresa Jacqueline Marie Storkson-Sleeman passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Sunday, February 29, 2004 at the Rainy River Hospital. Theresa was born on April 5, 1929 in Vassar, MB. She was raised in Manitoba and settled in the Rainy River area as a young woman. She was united in marriage to Albert Storkson on December 6, 1946 and together they had eight children. After his passing she was married to Curtis Sleeman. Theresa was very involved in the beginning of the Credit Union in Rainy River watching it grow and become the business it is now. She was also very active with the Our Lady of Good Counsel Church Choir. She had started playing the organ for services as a young girl and had continued until her health failed her these last few years. She also served with the Parish Council as bookkeeper. Theresa had an excellent singing voice and had sang for many different services over the years. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, upholstery and gardening. Theresa leaves behind her children, Alice Ivall of Fort Frances, Robert Storkson of South Korea, Roger (John) Storkson of Thunder Bay, Rita (Anthony) Wilson of Red Lake, Edward Storkson of Mississauga and Michelle Raine of Dryden; daughter-in-law Violet Storkson of Edmonton, AB; brother Roger of Winnipeg, MB; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Albert Storkson; second husband Curtis Sleeman; parents, Marcel and Edna Bonot; son Leo Storkson; son-in-law Tom Kreger; sisters, Jean Boutang, Isabelle Beaudry and brother Art Bonot. Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church. Father James Panikulam officiated with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery beside her husband Albert. The active pallbearers were Ryan Storkson, Tyson Storkson, Michael Ivall, Dennis Ivall, Robert Ivall and Abby Desrosier. The honorary pallbearers were Hazel Tullett, Val Grant, Pearl Bedard, Mary Kearney, Lorraine Dryden, Jeanette Armstrong, Donald Ivall, Bob Sawchuk and the Our Lady of Good Counsel Church Choir. If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Rainy River Hospital, Box 236, Rainy River, ON, P0W 1L0.
