VIOLET WRIGHT Peacefully on Thursday, March 4, 2004, Vi Wright passed away at the Golden Links Lodge. Vi was born December 8, 1925, at the Carrothers farm, now the home of the Manitoba Agricultural Museum. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her daughters, Terry (Jim) Cannon, Linda Carey (Allan Faulkner) and grandchildren, Angela Steele, Danny (Krista) Steele, Dawn Steele, Jeff (Joy) Cannon; and great-grandchildren, Eric, Ashley and Madison. She is survived by brothers, Cliff (Gladys) Carrothers, Stanley "Dick" (Lillace) Carrothers, Clarence (Marie) Carrothers; and sisters, Vera Hay and Grace Boughton. She was predeceased by her husband Tom Wright; her parents Thomas and Etta May Carrothers; finance Ralph Smith; brothers, Eldon Carrothers, Louis Carrothers, Leslie Carrothers, Donald Carrothers; and sister Isabel Enta. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cross country skiing, gardening and traveling. She was very involved with the Austin Agricultural Museum and served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary for several years. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff of the Golden Links Lodge in Winnipeg. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 9 at 1:00 p.m. at the Austin United Church, 9 Beaver St., Austin, MB. Interment to follow. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Vis memory be made to the Golden Links Lodge, 2280 St. Marys Rd., Winnipeg, MB, R2N 3Z5, or Manitoba Agricultural Museum Ladies Auxiliary, Box 10, Austin, MB R0H 0C0.
