ARMANDE CLAIRE LAGASSE (nee CARRIERE) Armande passed away peacefully the afternoon of Saturday, March 6, 2004 at the Tache Centre at the age of 77. She goes to join her beloved husband Jeffrey who passed away in March of 1977. Armande was born July 4, 1926 in Ile Des Chenes where her father owned a grocery store. The store housed a pool table and mom became quite proficient at playing pool. Her brothers and sisters nicknamed her "The comical kid", as she was known for her sense of humour. She will be remembered for her smile and generous nature. She had a wonderful voice and loved to sing. She loved motorcycle rides. Her greatest love of all was for her family. For many years she worked at St. Amant Centre in the cafeteria. Mom was deeply religious and was a devout catholic. Mom will be sadly missed by her children Paul (Gisele Lapointe), Michelle (Dan Chatham), Guy (Carrie Gladu), Roland (Lyette Lagasse), Jacqueline, Jacques and her grandchildren, Alain, Natalie, Janelle, Mario and Rejean. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Armande was the eighth child in a family of nine. She is predeceased by her parents, Albert and Marguerite (nee Beauchemin) brothers, Armand, Leon, Maurice; sisters, Denise Carriere, Solange Carriere, Alice Frobisher, Rolande Carriere, and Denise Callens. Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, March 12 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Eugene R. C. Church, 1007 St. Marys Rd. Viewing one half prior to mass. Interment in St. Boniface Cemetery.
