Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE HENRY TURNER 1911 - 2004 George Henry Turner passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of March 10, 2004 at the Tabor Home in Morden, aged 92. George will be lovingly remembered by Elsie, his wife of 58 years; daughters, Deborah Turner and Rilla Curtis (David) and grandsons, Tristan and Travis Curtis. George is also survived by his brother Ted; sisters-in-law, Edith Turner and Helen Turner and numerous nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers. George was born on April 27, 1911 in Minto, MB. His family moved to Morden in 1928 where his father founded Turners Bakery. After working as a cook and a baker in the mining industry in Ontario, George returned to Morden in the early 1940s to take over the family business. An avid hockey player and golfer in his youth, in later years George enjoyed curling, travelling, tending his garden and playing pool at the Morden Friendship Centre. The family wishes to thank the Tabor Home staff for their compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. Following Georges wishes, there will be no funeral. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Georges memory to a charity of their choosing. George was a kind, gentle soul whose memory will always live in our hearts.
