EDWARD ANDREW SLIPEC November 22, 1939- March 10, 2004 Suddenly, with his children at his side, Ed passed away at the Victoria General Hospital on Wednesday. He will forever be sadly missed by his son Jim (Vera) Slipec of Winnipeg; daughter Debbie (Kevin) Young of LaSalle and grandchildren, Jason, Corey (Slipec) and Bryan (Young). He will be greatly missed by his sister Olga (Walter) Norget ; brother Mike Slipec; brother-in-law Walter (Shirley) Zgoda; brother-in-law Terry Federowich; sister-in-law Ollie (Orvil) Lilke; and many nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his loving wife of 44 years, Sophie, in 2003; sister-in-law Jean in 2002; grandson Ryan in 1996; mother Dora in 1977 and father Alexander in 1969. Ed was born and raised in the North End of Winnipeg. He worked as an electrician until his retirement in 2002 taking time out for family, friends, fishing and working in his garden. Thanks to the nurses and doctors from the ICU at VGH who cared for Ed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 13 at 12:00 Noon at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eds memory to the Heart and Stroke Fund of Manitoba.
