Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMICHAEL (MIKE) MACHINSKI November 10, 1918 - March 11, 2004 Peacefully, on Thursday, March 11, 2004, with his daughters at his side, Mike Machinski aged 85 years of Selkirk, MB. Mike is survived by his daughters, Shirley Tillett and Louise Machinski; sister Nellie Chubko (John - deceased) brother Emil (Liz) Machinski and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Elizabeth in 1991; parents, William and Tetania; and several brothers and sisters-in-law. Mike was born in Rembrandt (Arborg) area and resided in Libau, working as both a farmer and a carpenter for most of his life. After retiring from carpentry, Mike and Elizabeth moved to Breezy Point, where they resided for 30 years. After Elizabeth passed away, Mike moved to the Knights Centre, where he had resided for the past six years. Both he and Elizabeth were members of the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church and Mike was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Prayers will be said on Sunday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 15 at 10:30 a.m. in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, Selkirk. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery. The family wishes to thank both the doctors and nurses at the ICU at Health Sciences Centre, as well to family and friends for all their support. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6-200 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or to CancerCare Manitoba 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
