DEANNA LYNN FRIESEN (nee BERGMANN) Deanna Lynn Friesen entered eternity on March 12, 2004 after complications arising from her lifelong battle with hydrocephalus. She was born on March 11, 1946 in Winkler to John and Emma (nee Born) Bergmann. Deannas faith sustained her during the many difficult times in her life. Deanna attended school in Rosebank and then in Kane, MB., up to Grade 9. Her studies were a struggle due to her poor vision. However, she enjoyed piano lessons and continued to love playing her piano for many years. At age 18, Deanna came to live in Winnipeg with Rev. and Mrs. J.J. Neufeld, who became like a second set of loving and caring parents. She met Ken Friesen of Steinbach and they were married on July 14, 1968. Kens faithful support has allowed her to cope with her health problems during difficult times and to experience joy when her health was good. She and Ken loved to travel and visit family and friends. On November 24, 2003 Deanna was hospitalized and eventually developed complications from which she did not recover. The family is grateful for the prayers of their church family and friends, and for the wonderful care of the staff at the Concordia Hospital during this time. Deanna is predeceased by her parents, John and Emma Bergmann; her step-mother Elfrieda Bergmann; and her parents-in-law, Fred and Elizabeth Friesen. She is survived by her loving husband Ken Friesen; her sister Sharon Epp (John) by niece Susan Peters (Vern) and nephews, John Reimer-Epp (Heidi), Tim Epp (Colleen), Matthew Epp (Jodie) with their children; brothers-in-law, Edmar Friesen and Wes Friesen (Elaine) nephews Scott Friesen, Nathan Friesen (Bobbie-Jo), and their children; and a very large circle of relatives and friends. A devotional will be held on Tuesday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Braeside Evangelical Mennonite Church at 1011 Munroe Ave., in Winnipeg. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 17 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Carl Heppner officiating. Interment will be at the Mennonite Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM 220 Hespeler Ave at Henderson Hwy. 668-3151
