JOHN NIKOLAICHUK Peacefully on Thursday, March 11, 2004, John Nikolaichuk died in the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 84 years. John will be lovingly remembered and missed by his sister Sonia and Morris Lypka; his nephews, Ronald Lypka and Gerald Lypka (Linda Murray). He was predeceased by his parents, Alexander and Maria Nikolaichuk. John was born on August 30, 1919 in the Ukraine. He immigrated to Canada in 1928 with his father who farmed in St. Vital. In 1933 John and his dad were joined by Johns mother Maria and his sister Sonia. John lived on the family farm until 1990 when he moved in with Sonia. John spent the past number of years at the Quest Inn on Ellice Avenue. Before he retired, John worked as a driver-salesman for Perth Whitehall. He enjoyed fishing with his family for many years. A celebration of Johns life will be held on Wednesday, March 17 at 10:45 a.m. in Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway with the Rev. Linda Murray officiating. Viewing prior to the service. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Memorial gifts may be given to the Canadian Cancer Society, Manitoba Division, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.
